Host-microbiota interactions: How maternal breast milk antibodies shape the development of the preterm infant microbiota, We developed a novel technology (Microbiome Flow Cytometry; MicFLY ) to quantify and characterize the antibody-bound microbiota with high taxonomic resolution at the single-cell level. MicFLY combines spectral flow cytometry with highly multiplexed bacterial probes to measure absolute abundances of bacterial populations. By doing so, we are able to track how maternal IgA and IgG influence the longitudinal development of the infant intestinal microbiota in both health and disease.
